Meditation

Life can be hard.

iRest can help.

My love for iRest started when I learned the Air Force was using the practice in their resiliency programs. I quickly embraced the first-level training and started teaching to military members and their families in 2016.

Since then, I bring aspects of the iRest guided meditation in to all my classes; it leads to mind, body & spiritual healing and connection by releasing long-held self-destructive patterns. The meditation is very accessible and available to anyone seeking relaxation, restoration and awakening.

iRest teaches skills that you can take into your daily walk of life to find a sense of ease when encountering difficult situations and connection with others. iRest has been proven to reduce stress, promote healing, resolve trauma and neutralize anxiety, fear, anger, depression, insomnia and chronic pain.

I personally use the principles of iRest in my daily life to find that sense of “okayness.” I have used it during very difficult times such as surgery, injury, physical/emotional trauma and overall healing.

iRest is a non-religious, secular practice typically consisting of 10 to 40 minute sessions where groups or individuals are guided through an experience that covers:

· Physical Body sensations

· Breath awareness

· Feelings and emotions

· Thoughts, beliefs, and memories

· Joy and well-being

· Overall awareness

· Integration back into daily life

iRest is a trauma-informed practice that is derived from the ancient meditation approach of Yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra: yoga = the realization of inherent interconnectedness with all of life + nidra = across all states of consciousness.

I am a certified iRest teacher. I have taught iRest to many different environments – to include military communities where I live. The Department of Defense adopted the iRest protocol into their resiliency programs in 2006. It is currently being used to treat service members dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, insomnia and much more. iRest is also being used to help top executives manage stress, cancer patients find healing, children in the schools and trauma survivors find a sense of safety.

MBY offers in-person & Zoom video conference options for private iRest sessions, as well as classes, programs and workshops for groups of any size. Classes can be tailored to meet your unique needs. For more information, please contact me. All inquiries are confidential.
